Chapter 8 - Markets, Sculptures, and Big City Living

Hi -  On March 30, we left the Lake Chapala area and drove 1 hour north to an inland city named Tlaquepaque.   Tlaquepaque is a referred to as a magical town (Pueblo MΓ‘gico) located 15 minutes away from the City of Guadalajara.  We stayed in Tlaquepaque at Maria Eugenia's Place for 5 nights.   πŸ˜€  The pros of Maria Eugenia's Place:  2 bedroom, 1 bath walking distance to Centro and Independencia Ave. American style living secured underground parking strong wi-fi washer and dryer in unit tv worked patio πŸ˜€  The cons of Maria Eugenia's Place:  it felt small because of design rooster crowing started at 4 a.m. portable air conditioner/had to dump water reservoir slight sewer smell in kitchen no convenient potty spot for Charlie Corp was not a fan of our neighboring feathered friend. One of the most visited places in Tlaquepaque is Independencia Ave.  We enjoyed walking this  artsy, colorful and lively pedestrian street day and night...

Chapter 7 - Crazy Fireworks, Murals, and More New Friends

Hi again… On March 2, we left Mismaloya and travelled about 3 hours south to the San Patricio, Barra de Navidad, and Melaque area.  Along the way, we crossed the Punta Los Horcones River.    Beautiful setting.  Not much moving water there now, but I bet it's quite impressive at the end of the rainy season. Before we reached our final destination, we were told to stop at Playa Punta Perula.    It was a small little beach town with a super long wide beach.   We even saw a red Audi racing down the beach.  We were so surprised when we saw him, we couldn't get our phones out fast enough to get a video.  This video shows him driving much slower back down the beach. Barra De Navidad, San Patricio, and Melaque are three towns that are within walking distance of each other by beach.  We quickly discovered beach walking here was not easy.  It was very angled to the water and your feet would sink in several inches when walki...
